Delana Spaulding, 24 -- CAT 4 -- Binghamton
Delana may be new to cycling, but she's no stranger to racing.
She was a Big Red Rower for 4 years at Cornell, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Post college and NCAA-athlete life, she's returned to distance running, dabbled with triathlons, and is venturing into cycling. She now happily owns the 3 requisite bikes: road, mountain, and cross! Since moving to the Southern Tier, Delana has been busy working toward a second bachelors degree in nursing from Binghamton University. She makes time to ride with TVC during the week and race with Mission in Motion ladies on weekends. Fitness and health are two of her highest priorities, and she's excited to share the road and trails with the other fine cyclists of the team!

Vanessa MCCaffery- 27, Cat 3- Ithaca
Vanessa is the 4th of 12 children and teaches horseback riding and schools lesson horses for Cornell's Phys Ed department, and works as a research assistant at Cornell (though her Cornell education was in fine arts). She enjoys horseback riding (dressage/combined training), polo, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and swimming. Vanessa was attracted to MiM by the prospect of having strong women as teammates and is really enjoying riding with the team.
She has ridden road bikes for 4 years and raced in 2005 with the Cornell cycling team. She hopes to be a good contributor/teammate and support the team. Her personal goals are to gain more race experience, work on all-around strength. In addition to road racing last year, Vanessa will also participate in "Women Swimmin'"-a 1.2 mile swim across Cayuga Lake to raise funds for Hospicare of Ithaca! Vanessa participated in a week of training at USA Cycling Camp where she learned from the pros! Her strong work ethic helped her accomplish her goal of upgrading to Cat 3 this year, Congratulations Vanessa!
Margaret Thompson Utica, NY -- Category 3
2006 & 2007 US National Tandem Women's Master's champion!
Margaret has been racing for over 20 years, with five National Championship wins & a UCI World Championship Silver medal. She is a USA Cycling Licensed Expert Coach who operates a private coaching business to help other racers gain success and satisfaction through her knowledge and experience. In addition to her on-going cycling education, she has a Bachelor of Science degree from Utica College with a major in CPW accounting and a minor in Speech Communication with emphasis on Interpersonal and Organizational skills. Margaret races on this team in honor of her sister-in-law, Margie Snider, who lost her courageous battle against cancer at the age of 41 leaving three children, ages 5,7,and 9.
Charlsie Donnely, 19 Van-Etten, NY Cat 4 Cancer Survivor!
2006 JUNIOR woman New York State Time Trial Champion, Road Champion & Criterium Champion! 2007 NYS Junior Crit Champion!
Charlsie is an amazing person who has battled a cancerous brain tumor at the age of 11 and underwent another brain surgery in March 2007 to remove the remaining tumor. She has recovered amazingly and is back in the saddle competing! She also competes on the cross country team at Spencer Van-Etten High School. Charlsie is the 2006 New York State Junior RR, CRIT and Time Trial Champion and recently defended her title and is also the 2007 NYS Crit Champion! She rode the 105 mile Aids Ride for charity in 5 hours 15 minutes, Charlsie is thrilled to ride with a team that shows support to each other. Charlsie placed 6th in the time trial and 9th in the road races at US JUNIOR NATIONALS in Seven Springs, PA.
Heather Ludwig, Endicott NY
Heather did her first bike race in 2008 at Apple fest and has decided to enjoy many more. She joined Mission in Motion due to the encouragement of friends and is looking froward to being a member of the team. Other sports interests include triathlons, running, hiking, and kayaking just to mention a few. She enjoys being outside and in warmer weather can be frequently be found outside with her two dogs. Heather won the TVC compined points champion for the women this year! Way to go!

Marsha Kapinus, Chenango Forks, NY - CAT 3
Marsha is a Manager of Treasury Operations for Security Mutual Life Insurance currently studying Commercial Real Estate Underwriting. Marsha began racing in 2002 and enjoys learning all aspects of cycling, Mountain Biking, Road racing, Cyclocross, & Triathlons. Marsha helped form the team to promote good health in women and to promote women's racing. She enjoys vacationing with the mountain bike group, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and spending every moment with her husband, Pat and their yellow Lab, Moses. Marsha is also a licensed official for USA cycling, and when not racing, enjoys learning the details of officiating at large events and helping beginner riders learn the basics.

Laura Lamash- Binghamton, NY- 2008 NYS Time Trial Silver Medalist, Empire State Games Gold medal in Masters Road race, and Silver in Masters Crit!
Laura began competing in 2007 at The Chris Thater Memorial Criterium and placed 3rd in the Cat 4 women! Laura also enjoys coming out to the TVC road races and time trials throughout the year.
Sue Foster- Brand New to racing in 2010! Already has completed her first triathlon and placed second in her age group!
Tiffany Grygus- Also brand new to road racing in 2010- Participated in the team triathlon and we are excited to see her at more races!
Chelsea Reynolds 22 Endicott -- Category 3
Chelsea recently graduated from Clarkson University where she competed on the Clarkson cross country running team and Nordic ski team. Chelsea's 2006 cycling accomplishments include being the three-time NYS Junior Women's Time Trial Champion and winning the CAT 4 Women's category at the Syracuse Race Weekend and a silver medal in the NYS road race championship.
Shelley Reynolds 46 Endicott, NY -- Category 3
2006 NYS Road Race Master's Champion!
Shelley and her husband Tim have two children, Ben and Chelsea. She is a special education teacher at Whitney Point Middle School. She is a former marathoner/ultramarathoner who loves X-C skiing, trail running, mountain biking, and hiking with her family. Shelley races on this team to honor the memory of her best friend, Susan, who fought a courageous 7-year battle with breast cancer, leaving behind two young children. Shelley has been racing the mountain bike circuit this past summer!
Angela Ott- Utica, NY-Cat 4- Angela has been moving quite a bit lately, can't wait for her to settle in and maybe we'll see her at some cross racing this fall!

Michelle Costello, 45 Franklin, NY -- Category 2
Michelle lives and works in a rural community with her husband Nick where they operate a retail greenhouse business. In addition to road racing, Michelle enjoys traveling to other countries and cyclocross, winning the 2003 Maxxis Master Women's Cyclocross title. 2004 highlights include 1st place in the North American Master's Championship Time Trial and 2nd in the Hill Climb and General Classification. AS a primary caregiver for a geriatric parent, Michelle understands the roles exercise and nutrition play in maintaining good health as well as its value in the treatment of conditions such as diabetes and Parkinson's disease.
Sarah Krzysiak, 24 – cat 3
Sarah started road racing in 2006 with the Dick Sonnes Cycling Team and joined our team toward the end of the season. Some of her accomplishments include coming in 1st at the Rochester Twilight Criterium cat 4 race, a 5th place finish at Union vale cat 4 race, and a 4th place overall at the Syracuse Race Weekend cat 4 division. She is a full time computer programmer in Rome NY. Besides cycling, she enjoys downhill skiing in the winter. Sarah has had an amazing 2007 season earning her an upgrade to the Cat 3 ranks! Sarah has accepted an offer from the Velo Sportivo/ Syracuse Bicycle Team for the 2008-09 season. Sarah is now a Cat 2 and racing with Anthem sports for 2010, we expect to see her in the pro circuit in the future!
Carrie, Owego, NY Cat 4
Carrie and her husband, Harold, both enjoy road riding and mountain biking. Carrie works as a nurse and recently ran the Marine Corps Marathon. She believes in promoting breast cancer awareness and physical activity for women of all ages. Riding with and supporting his team will give her a way to do this.
Carrie won the MacCauley Mountain challenge in the Sport category in 2005 and is very skilled on the mountain bike crossing ladders and bridges that many of us won't even attempt! :)
Pam Corbin, Endicott, NY
Pam lives with her husband Paul and her two boys, Gavin and Seth. She works as a Sales Manager and enjoys biking, running and watching her kids excell in sports. She plans to ride a century this year. She loves to ride and feels that participating on this team is a great way to spend her time and support cancer awareness. Cancer changes many lives and she wants to be a part of the hope that may change someone’s life!
Janie Cregan, Endicott, NY Cat 4
Janie has begun racing in local races this year and enjoys coming out to the weekly time trials! She also enjoys training to compete in local TRIATHLONS! She is a genuine pleasure to be around and to ride with! Janie WON the Cat 4 women's race at the Chris Thater Memorial Criterium in Binghamton, NY!

Lorrie is an avid mountain biker, team supporter and a super organizer for club trips, gatherings & campouts!
Tara Heiss, Newark Valley, NY
Tara juggles two careers, one at Lockheed Martin and one as a real estate agent with Century 21 Sbarra and Wells. She enjoys cycling, skiing, gardening, building, and her pets. Her goal for the season is to continue to have a happy and healthy life via cycling and her other activities. She’s looking forward to the team support, helping others, healthy living, and socializing.

Tamara McQuade, Endicott, NY
Tamara and her husband Mark are both very active cyclists. They enjoy riding the tandem together (and are pretty darn fast too). She does desktop publishing for a printing company. She also enjoys fine art and crafting, gardening, and travel. She hopes to ride consistently in TVC events this season and keep fit. She wants to be a part of this team to promote cycling as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Kim Panella, Endicott
Kim works at SUNY Binghamton and enjoys biking and being with her family and friends. Her goals for the season are to finish one bike race, lose weight and get in better shape. She believes this team is racing for a very good cause and looks forward to being a part of a women’s program.
Polly Peterson, Endicott, NY
Polly enjoys living and active life with her husband Ruk and his kids, Carlee and Joren. She teaches science at a local middle school. She likes to mountain bike and back county ski. She hopes to improve her endurance and her climbing ability this year. She is thrilled to be part of a team that has worthwhile goals.
